Mrs Murdoch

There's a new one!

This weekend was spent dealing with the whole wedding phenomenon.

Can see what all the fuss is about now, though I hope I will manage a good amount of singledom before this kind of day happens to me! Posted by Picasa

Graffitti attack on Air Force One?

StillFree.com

So difficult to tell whether stuff is true or not - is this a fake video?

Looks very convincing, guards and everything. But a little too good - is that truly how they guard Air force one? Shouldn't it be in a hangar?

Good idea though, and I'm sure the publicity hasn't harmed this site.

Couldn't find anything in the news about the vandalism.

'Girl' Houses

Been a while since I've been in a house which has been run exclusively for girls.

But still.

Ivy round the shower pipe and some sort of shell shape around the sponge?

More Silliness

Tried to see what Cillit Bang would do to pennies and to other assorted household goods.

Nothing!

Pennies didn't become shinier.

Sugar failed to react.

Broken CD did nothing.

Courgette didn't do anything.

Aubergine didn't do anything.

Neither did Marmite.

Nor Oregano.

Potato Man!

Spent last night doing a bit of a blue peter thing, making a man out of vegetables.

I wasn't on my own doing this, I was with my flatmates.

There's a new flat mate moving in, someone who happens to work just round the corner from me. She (yes - a girl!!) seems really really nice.

Did have to hide the vegetable man from her when she came round to drop off some stuff. We would have looked slightly strange otherwise! Posted by Picasa

Freakonomics

Saw this poster for Freakonomics. Strange seeing a product you're very familiar with being repositioned so aggressively.

Freakonomics was originally marketed very much as an intellectual book. It had a very subtle and muted cover and the reviews talked about how it made you think. Now it looks like a story about the case studies it presents rather than as a new way of looking at economics.

To be fair, this new approach probably comes closer to what the book actually was. Just still a shock to see such a change in the image of the book. Posted by Picasa
