Bloody scaremongerers.

Although there should be a bit of precaution when beginning any kind of new technology it is silly to believe the wilder stories (e.g. Prey by Michael Crichton). Nanotechnology is not a wholly new discipline and shouldn't have to face any new hurdles before being approved.

Even if people do start putting hurdles in front of nanotechnology it will be very difficult to define what nano technology is.

Where does nano technology start? At what size - some of the computer chips being made at the moment could be considered to be nanotechnology if the settings are sufficiently broad.
